Celebrating 10 years on the GT-1000 (extra wide) running shoe, the running shoe takes a giant step forward in what it means to run. Previous iterations laid the groundwork for delivering the intrinsic value of the midsole, allowing this update to focus on the upper. For those who need more in-shoe space, the shoe is wider for a more snug fit. The upper has been redesigned with a new engineered mesh that adjusts to the natural shape of your foot while providing comfortable midfoot traction. By adding an integrated support system, the app improves the heel fit and creates a more secure feel. Following a more sustainable design approach, the shoe also uses fewer resources to color the insole. The heel is cushioned with a layer of GEL technology for improved shock absorption, and the shoe also integrates FLYTEFOAM midsole material for a softer and more supportive feel where the foot hits the ground. Finally, the DUOMAX Support System consists of a denser foam located on the inside of the midsole, helping to reduce pronounced pronation (excessive pronation) of the foot while improving stability.
